Job Description

POSITION: Yard Lead LOCATION: HensallHensall Co-op is seeking a reliable individual to become an integral member of our team! This position is full time, working out of the Hensall location. The Yard Lead performs all the daily activities related to the yard and the movement of inventory (grain, feed products, corn, beans etc.), both internal and external as well as providing timely and professional customer service to members and customers. Supervises a team of 5-9 staff.Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help train staff according to company policy.
  • Direct staff in their daily tasks making sure tasks are completed safely and done in a timely fashion.
  • Help maintain inventory of grain with daily checks and month inventory.
  • Operate the grain receiving pit during harvest and ensure that product goes to the proper designated storage area with the proper documentation.
  • Assist with inventory control by verifying shipments, completing documentation, and producing inventory counts when needed for bins, domes, and silos on location.
  • Document and verify incoming loads at various pits using logbooks ensuring that proper documentation is completed and forwarded to the appropriate personnel for each load.
  • Maintain all equipment according to maintenance schedule, policies, and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot equipment defects and issues when something is not working properly and report to supervisor when necessary.
  • Understand and assist with all aspects of cleaning, blending, drying, aerating, and storing of agricultural products.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • Attention to detail with strong time management skills
  • Customer relations and interpersonal skills
  • Record keeping ability and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to operate different equipment such as forklift and automated plant equipment is an asset
  • Basic maintenance experience or skills
Required Qualifications:
  • Forklift License (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid G Driver’s License
