Job Description

Job Summary:The Apprentice Auto Body Technician/ Dismantle Technicianassists in the repair and restoration of vehicles damaged by collision, wear or corrosion. This role primarily involves the safe and organized dismantling of vehicles for repair, identifying damaged parts, and preparing them for reassembly. The apprentice will support senior technicians and gain hands-on experience in autobody repair practices in accordance with industry standards.Key Responsibilities:

  • Dismantle vehicle in preparation for repair, noting damaged components and systems.
  • Tag and store parts for reassembly in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Assist in autobody repair tasks such as sanding, masking, prepping panels and minor bodywork under supervision.
  • Clean and maintain the work area and tools.
  • Follow all safety protocols and workplace procedure.
  • Communicate effectively with estimators and technicians regarding vehicle condition and repair requirements.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to build technical skills and knowledge in collision repair.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Enrolled inor willing to enroll in a registered apprenticeship program (2nd to 3rd year Apprentice with AIT).
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle systems and components is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to lift heavy parts and work in physically demanding environments.
  • Valid driver #39;s license and clean driving records.
