Reporting to the Field Foreman, this position is responsible for working with the Integrated Operations Center (IOC) to ensure reliable operations, performing regular lease checks, gathering non-automated field data and performing operational, safety, environmental and regulatory compliance activities. This is a permanent full-time position based out of Hinton, Alberta.Responsibilities

  • Visual, environmental, regulatory and production checks at each lease as per designated schedule and per Perfect Wellsite Visit Procedure for wells, plungers, pump jacks, compressors, dehy operations, knock out drums, flare stacks, incinerators, jet lift systems, hot oil heater baths, stabilizer towers, etc.
  • Perform minor maintenance activities such as tightening packing, cleaning up minor ground staining, general housekeeping, and other tasks, as per HSE/OI Internal Facility compliance
  • Identifies and reports on all other equipment or production deficiencies to the IOC
  • Gathers and records non-automated field data in Well Health
  • Gathers and records data for flare vent reporting
  • Perform scheduled production and compliance pigging
  • Completing corrective, preventative, training and project work that is assigned from SAP by the IOC on the operations schedule
  • Submit work requests in SAP for work identified while completing assigned tasks so work can be scheduled and /or tracked
  • Notify the IOC for issues requiring immediate attention so that schedules can be adjusted to address the issue, ensuring that top priority work is completed first
  • Assists with production midstream sour pigging and provides back up, as needed
  • Performs carseal audits and replacements, carseal replacements, cathodic checks, well down time management, orifice and chart changes, and fuel gas readings
  • Monitors and reports produced water levels
  • Supervises chemical tank re-fills
  • Performs PSV numbering and tagging, Presco checks, permitting of work, valve check audits, water pond inspections, and well inspection safety checks
  • Completes waste manifest documentation and reporting
  • Performs compliance containment tank inspections, surface water pump off, bubble or glove testing, rodent management
  • Provides operator coverage (as directed)
Qualifications and Key Skills
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar field operator role
  • Familiarity with all types of production equipment
  • Proven experience troubleshooting minor corrective work
  • Broad business knowledge and general understanding of production and pipeline operations
  • Familiar with emergency response plans and general field safety policies and procedures
  • Familiar with SAP, Well Health, Energy Components and Excel, and comfortable with computers
  • Self-motivated but with ability to take direction
  • Effective communicator and ability to work in a team environment
  • Supportive of change and flexibility for variation in work duties
