Hope and Area Transition Society:Housing Hub Coordinator (contracted position) 3 days per week, 6-8 months durationWho We Are:Hope and Area Transition Society was established in 1994. At that time, the intent of the Agency was to offer a haven for women and children fleeing domestic violence. Our Transition House opened in a permanent location in 1995 and was officially named the Jean Scott Transition House. Jean Scott was a trailblazer for women’s equality and was instrumental in the creation of our Transition House. The Transition House is the cornerstone of the agency.Over the years, we have grown into 4 broad streams of services:Domestic Violence, Substance Use , Youth and Family, HomelessnessOur Vision Statement says it all:Hope and Area Transition Society envisions a community that is free from trauma and systemic societal challenges a community that has vibrant individuals and families who are resilient and have a sense of belonging, acceptance and connectedness to self, family, the community and society.As a result of the growth and development of the agency, Hope and Area Transition Society is the largest non-profit in the Fraser-East.The Job:The position of Housing Hub Coordinator is a contracted, temporary position (6-8 months, 3 day work week) sponsored by and through Hope and Area Transition Society. The core measurable for the position is creating and/or establishing a Housing Hub Model for the municipality of Hope. Separate and apart from a Emergency Shelter environment or even Supportive Housing, a Housing Hub identifies innovative partnerships with local housing organizations, community land trusts, Indigenous groups, faith-based groups, charities, the development community, financial institutions and the local community to create affordable rental housing for otherwise un-housed British Columbians. The core goal of the Housing Hub is to increase the supply of affordable housing by identifying and communicating available and affordable options.Job Requirements:
