Job Description

We want to see all of our clients flourish, providing each person with opportunities to live happy and fulfilled lives.Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the caregiver provides personal care services and/or home support services to clients and assists clients with activities of daily living, as described in the care plan and within their scope of practice and in accord with all internal and external standards of practice.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide personal care to clients as required according to the client's care plan.
  • Ensure the comfort, safety, and social well-being of clients are met to the greatest possible extent.
  • Provide personal care and home support services that are within the caregiver's scope of practice.
  • Observe and document client conditions, report unusual events or changes in a client’s condition to the immediate supervisor.
  • Understand and implement infection control practices.
  • Participate in ongoing educational activities and in-services.
  • Adhere to Chickadee Home Care policies and procedures.
  • Participate in proactive health and safety activities at all times. Notify the supervisor of any health and safety risks or concerns.
  • Complete other tasks as required.
  • Be compassionate, responsible, professional, and reliable.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:The caregiver reports to a supervisor as designated by the director.QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least one year of relevant experience in a similar position or life experience in which similar duties were completed.
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work well independently.
  • Ability to stand, bend, squat, kneel, and reach freely.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, the ability to assist clients with mobility, i.e. rolling in bed, standing, walking, sitting, transferring, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow spoken and written instructions as related to client care.
  • Ability to travel locally from assignment to assignment.
  • Clear vulnerable sector criminal record check.
  • Reliable transportation.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE:The caregiver must demonstrate ongoing capacity in completing all duties and responsibilities as detailed in the job description as well as agreed upon specific goals and objectives.PERFORMANCE REVIEW:Job performance will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, with a formal review at the end of the 3 months probationary period and subsequently on an annual basis. Input will be sought from the employee, supervisor and also based on ongoing client feedback and the extent to which performance meets expectations.Part-time hours: 24 per weekExpected start date: 2021-07-02Job Type: Part-timeSalary: From $17.00 per hourBenefits:
