Job Description

Your opportunity:Muskoka Auto Parts (MAP) began in Parry Sound in 1946 as 1 auto parts store. Over 75 years later, the MAP Group now consists of 10 stores across Central Ontario that service the automotive, fleet, industrial, marine, power sport and snow & ice control markets. We excel in supplying top quality OEM replacement brands of aftermarket parts, products and services.We are currently searching for a proficient and dynamic Controller to join our team. Major responsibilities for this position include monthly financial and operational reporting, developing and maintaining internal control policies and procedures and monitoring day-to-day accounting and inventory processes. Most importantly, the Controller leads and supports the greater finance team.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssign and review the work of the finance and administration team offering input and guidance;Plan, direct and implement all accounting activities;Establish and monitor internal controls and regulatory compliance;Facilitate the budget process for all departments;Prepare, analyze, and present monthly financial statements and reports;Provide solutions for potential variances and discrepancies;Analyze cash flow and daily management of cash revenues according to policy;Oversee reports to ensure timely and accurate completion of finance duties such as bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, bank, A/R, A/P, payroll etc.;Improve data integrity and information reporting throughout the MAP Group;Support month-end and year-end close process;Coordinate annual physical inventory and review;Prepare, analyze and present inventory and costing reports;Act as liaison to external accountants and coordinate year end procedures;Manage ad hoc requests as necessary;Provide HR support and other administrative duties as required.QualificationsDiploma in an IT related program or on the job experienceDemonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent communication skills (both written and oral)Demonstrated ability to build a good report with team membersResults-driven individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlinesProficient organizational skills, detail orientated and accurateComfortable with presenting information and ideas to all levels in the organizationWillingness to learn, adapt and take on projects outside ITWe are committed to fair and equitable recruiting practices.
