Job Description

  • assist and provide leadership in the development of park management directions, resource management plans and public consultation programs
  • provide support for parks management planning
  • participate in policy development
  • provide support for transferring and interpreting policy and programs
How do I qualifyMandatory requirement:
  • You possess a valid class G drivers licence or equivalent, as recognized by the Province of Ontario, to travel within the province.
Technical knowledge:
  • You are knowledgeable about planning processes and procedures and natural resource inventory techniques.
  • You possess knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply relevant policies, procedures, regulations and legislation (Provincial Parks Act, Public Lands Act, Enviornmental Assessment Act).
  • You have knowledge of email, word processing and spreadsheet software in order to organize, distribute, analyze and communicate data and results.
Project management and coordination skills:
  • You possess project management skills to assist in organizing, coordinating and delivering tasks and managing planning processes.
  • You have facilitation, organization and coordinating skills to assist and support staff in the formulation of plans, projects and implementing schedules.
Communication and interpersonal skills:
  • You have communication skills to deal with clients, the public and co-workers.
  • You possess well developed written communication skills to write reports, briefing notes and letters.
  • You possess interpersonal skills to be able to work collaboratively and possess analytical skills to assist in conflict resolution.
