Applicants are requested to self-declare at the time of application.Competition DetailsClosing Date: OPEN until filledClassification: Labourer (LAB)Period: Approx. 22 - 26 weeks: May - OctoberSalary: $1,376.00 - $1,473.60 biweeklyEssential Qualifications: · Experience performing janitorial duties· Experience performing grounds maintenance tasks· Ability to work independently and effectively under minimal supervision· Strong interpersonal skills for developing and maintaining positive working relationships with the public and staff· Experience operating and maintaining equipment (such as gas powered trimmers, ride on lawnmowers and ½ ton trucks)Desired Qualifications: · Experience performing building maintenance tasks· Knowledge of Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Act and RegulationsConditions of Employment· Must be legally entitled to work in Canada;· Must possess and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 driver’s licence;· Must be physically able to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position which may require some moderate lifting, bending, walking and working in various types of outdoor conditions;· Must be able to wear personnel protective equipment as/when required;· Must be able to work with paints, solvents and chemicals;· Must be ready, willing and able to work evenings, weekends and statutory holidays as well as travel and work in other outlying areas within the Region.Additional Information: An eligibility list may be created for Labourer (LAB) positions and will remain in effect until the list is exhausted. This competition may be used to appoint successful candidates to current and future regular, term or acting status appointments subject to staffing approval.
