Job Description

Sevita International is looking for a person to fill an immediate permanent full-time position as a Soybean Processing and Site Upkeep Technician at our Soybean processing plant in Inkerman (near Winchester).· As a Soybean Processing and Site Upkeep Technician, you are primarily responsible to complete the tasks related to the conditioning and sampling of seed and food grade soybeans. You will be responsible to work in the yard to load, unload and transfer soybeans.Specific job duties include: Food Production and Site Upkeep Technician · Working to keep the entire site neat and tidy both inside and out.· Clean the plant and equipment.· Operate a forklift and tractor with a front-end loader· Fill and sew bags using the automatic scale and sewing line.· Manually handle bags as needed.· Load, unload and transfer soybeans on and off site as required.· Assisting with maintenance as required· Follow all requirements for Sevita’s Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs.· Follow the Sevita Health and Safety protocols and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).· Report any problems to the Plant Operator and/or Site Manager.· Other duties and tasks as assigned.The ideal candidate will have: · · Have a strong willingness to learn and to be a key player on the Sevita Team· Experience driving a forklift and a front-end loader· Basic mechanical knowledge and experience with hand and power tools.· Have a basic knowledge of Health and Safety rules in a plant and the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) that employees need to wear.· Good eye hand coordination.· Detail oriented and organized.· Must enjoy routine and repetitive tasks.· Must be a hard worker and in good physical condition.· Must be comfortable with climbing and working at heights· Must have common sense.· Must work well with others, be friendly, and have a positive attitude.Additional qualifications: · Experience working in a grain elevator and /or a seed processing facility is an asset.· Agricultural experience or background is an asset.· Experience with equipment maintenance is an asset.About Sevita: · Sevita is an equal opportunity employer who offers competitive wages based on experience.· Sevita pays overtime after 40 hours / week· Sevita offers extended health and dental benefits· Sevita offers a RRSP matching programThis is a full-time position with a salary of $19.00 to $22.00 per hour depending on experience.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $19.00-$22.00 per hourBenefits:
