Be a part of the action, contributing to this one-of-a-kind Resort and one of the best marinas in North America wile providing an exceptional guest experience.Role SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated Captain with proven skills to join our team in delivering world-class day tour experience for our guests on the water. We are located at Friday Harbor marina in Innisfil, ON. We provide bareboat and skippered day charters on Lake Simcoe. Our fleet consist of 20-23 Ft new pontoons, bowriders, fishing boats.Responsibilities· Assemble & check required supply levels and equipment pre and post tour· Greet passengers, provide them with life jackets according to the size, and get signed Waiver of Liability and Boat Rules· Conduct passenger orientations and safety drill· Ensure guests adhere to boat rules and safety procedures throughout the experience· Obey all marine regulations regarding safe vessel operation around marine wildlife· Conduct reporting and record keeping as required· Uphold agreed upon operational procedures· The Candidate must be confident in the handling and operating a Small Vessel on Lake Simcoe in different weather conditions (free training provided)· The Candidate must have sufficient practical knowledge of seamanship, piloting, and following Rules-of-the-Road to properly exercise full authority over the Small Vessel· The Candidate must have the ability to dock Small Vessels at any slip in the Friday Harbour Marina (free training provided)· Be presentable, calm, and reliable, follow SAIL LA VIE dress code and etiquette, wear uniform.· Have strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitudeRequirements· Pleasure Craft Operation Card (PCOC)· Small Vessel Operation Proficiency (SVOP) or willing to obtain one· Restricted Marine Radio Operator’s certificate (VHF Marine Radio)· Current Marine Basic First Aid (training provided by Captain expenses)· Ability to successfully complete a criminal background check· Candidates, who, in addition to the above, have relevant skills such as boat-handling, customer service, foreign language knowledge, will be given strong consideration· A positive attitude and good work ethic· Strong verbal communication skillsWorking Conditions· Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays· Work area is located alongside deep waterOur team is maintaining world highest industry standards· All candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada· Sail La Vie is an equal opportunity employer committed to hiring a diverse workforce· Contract with Sail La Vie will be conditional upon the successful candidate pass the Operating Test, takes onsite training and orientationJob Type: Fixed term contractSalary: From $45.00 per hourAdditional pay:
