The ideal candidates drive and are comfortable driving clients in their vehicle to run errands, go to appointments, etc. Scheduling is flexible, but open availability is an asset.Job Benefits:

• Pay starting at $19-$21 **depending on experience
• Benefits Plan available after working 30+ hours per week*
• 4% Vacation Pay on every pay
• Flexible hours

The successful candidate’s areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and personal care including eating, dressing, transferring, toileting, hygiene, grooming, and bathing as per client #39;s care plan
• Driving clients to outings, appointments, to run errands, etc.
• Supporting client with assigned physiotherapy exercises daily
• Preparing meals for client and completing light housekeeping as needed
• Providing medication support and management
• Providing cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support
• Maintaining open communication with client and their family
• Monitoring care plan and adding detailed documentation with any changes and updates
• Responding to all emergency situations
• All other duties, as assigned

Key qualifications for this position will include, but are not limited to:

• PSW certification from a public college/learning centre OR additional NACC certification is preferred*
• Caregiver, HSW, or PSW experience is *required**
• Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid drivers license
• Valid CPR/First Aid certification
• Completion of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
• Satisfactory professional references
• Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
• Must be able to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and tact in handling confidential matters
