Job Description

Be a part of the action, contributing to this one-of-a-kind Resort and one of the best marinas in North America and always providing an exceptional guest experience.Role SummaryThe Crew’s primary responsibility is to maintain superior guest relations by acting as a liaison between Sail La Vie Boat Rental, its captains, guests, and the public. The Crew’s main job duties include operating all functions of a boat rental dock, greeting passengers, attending to guests’ concerns, helping captains to provide the tour, maintaining and cleaning boats.Responsibilities· Get the day list of tours from booking system as a plan for the working day· Respond to the front desk phone and VHF· Monitor day bookings and record working captains’ hours· Fuel up, check and uncover all boats every morning, cover boats at the end of the day.· Pre and post tour preparation the boats according to Check List· Clean and sanitize the boat and PFDs before and after each tour, do the final day cleaning· Greet guests, provide them with PFDs according to the size, and get signed Waiver of Liability and Boat Rules· Help captains to do boat check in/out and safety orientation· Assist captains and guests with docking and casting off· Provide sales on front desk, receive payments for tours by cash and credit cards, report record of sales to Sail La Vie manager at the end of the working day· Promote Sail La Vie tours, Sailing lessons and other products· Report to Sail la Vie manager of any boat and tour problems· Move boats from dock to dock if it is necessary· Monitor dock and boats during inclement weather· Provide bareboat charterers with Contract and Waiver of Liability, Boat Rules, check ID, receive security deposit and payments for the tour by cash and credit cards, conduct boat check in/out, safety orientation, navigation advice, provide PFDs, assist during departure and docking· Use appropriate communication, methods, and actions to establish a courteous and professional working relationship

  • Ensures a clean workplace throughout the day, at the beginning and end of shifts
· Attend all health and safety training and follow all guidelines as outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Attend on-site professional training· Provide a high level of customer service to all guests· Other duties as assignedRequirements· High School diploma· Marine CPR and PCOC certificates are an asset· Experience with boats or in customer service is an asset· Must be able to swim and tread water for two minutes· Must possess excellent customer service skills· Must be computer literate· Strong verbal communication skills· Detail-oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentWorking Conditions· Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays· Must follow SAIL LA VIE dress code and etiquette· Required to move, lift, carry, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 30 pounds without assistance· Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire shift· Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, and pulling· Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces· Significant exposure to varying weather conditions· May encounter excessive noise from boat engines and equipment· Work area is located alongside deep waterOur team is maintaining world highest industry standards.· All candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada.· Sail La Vie is an equal opportunity employer committed to hiring a diverse workforce.· Contract with Sail La Vie will be conditional upon the successful candidate pass the Crew Operating Test, take 2 shifts under supervision as part of the Small Craft Operating Training (free training provided)Job Type: Fixed term contractSalary: From $15.00 per hourAdditional pay:
