Job SummaryThe Order Desk Specialist under the direction of the Logistics Manager. This position calls for accuracy and attention to detail from order entry to exceptionally servicing our clients ‘Business-to-Business’ customer expectations regarding service and order fulfillment. Job Duties
  • Analyse problems and make recommendations as to root causes and corrective actions
  • Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner
  • Greet customers and discuss type, quality, and quantity of merchandise or services required
  • Proactively attend to customer complaints in a professional manner
  • Address and resolve customer inquiries regarding the status of orders and any payment, and refund errors in a timely manner
  • Respond to customer service calls in a courteous and professional manner
  • Consult with customers after sale to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support
  • Maintain a high level of customer service
  • Handle customer complaints as they arise, escalating to the appropriate individual as deemed necessary
  • Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates
  • Adapt communication style in order to deliver information effectively to a range of individuals
  • Ensure follow-up by passing leads to Sales Representatives
  • Relay customer quality improvement suggestions for company products and services
  • Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge
  • Take orders from clients and prepare products for purchase
Job Requirements
  • Ability to analyse and interpret the needs of clients and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required
  • Ability to quickly pick up new product and service knowledge, and communicate that knowledge effectively to customers
  • Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
  • Demonstrated time management skills
  • High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
  • Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
  • Ability to adapt to new technology
  • Ability to navigate, compose and understand Excel spreadsheets
  • Past experience working in Yard /Lumber Mill environment considered an asset
  • Minimum 2-5 years of Order Desk Experience
  • Attention to detail & accuracy
Work Conditions
