You will oversee the team in realization of our Community Strategic Plan: Innovative Innisfil 2030, being true to the values: “Community First. Future Next. Balance Always”.Working in a cross-functional and forward-thinking environment, you will manage and oversee the sustainable development and implementation of key policies and procedures for the interpretation and application of the Zoning By-law, Community Planning Permit System, Zoning Administration and Committee of Adjustment.As a member of the Town’s Leadership Team, the Supervisor of Development Acceleration will be responsible for:Facilitating the processing of planning and development applications through the lens of place making, sustainability and successful community building in InnisfilMaking decisions in support of the Town’s Community Strategic Plan and championing the outcomes envisioned through Our Place and supporting Town master plansInspiring and empowering the Development Coordination Team and promoting their technical competence in the administration of the Zoning By-law, Community Planning Permit System(s), Committee of Adjustment and Site Place Control activitiesProviding guidance and support to Engineering and Community Development Standards Branch (CDSB) and other staff who undertake zoning and permit reviews and enforcementIdentifying projects that support Town priorities and directly benefit the community, and then expedites them to a successful conclusionJob RequirementsThe preferred candidate holds:A degree in Urban or Regional Planning or related field. A focus on urban design is preferredFull Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and/or Ontario Professional Planners InstituteFive (5) to seven (7) years’ experience with planning and development applications ideally with an urban design focus and including all aspects of zoning administration, site plan control, Committee of Adjustment servicesA minimum of one (1) year experience supervising staff in a unionized environment is an assetSustainability certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), Envision or similar sustainability certification) is considered an assetA valid Class “G” driver’s license in good standing is required as is a reliable vehicle to use on corporate businessAvailability to accommodate deadlines, meeting/events attendance and/or peak period workloads that may extend beyond the normal workday or occur on evenings/weekends, as may be requiredClosing date is July 4, 2021.To apply to this position, submit your application online though our applicant tracking system.
