Job Description

Inuvialuit Community Economic Development Organization (ICEDO) invites application for Country Food Processing Plant Operator in Inuvik, NT. Under the guidance of the Director of ICEDO, the applicant will be responsible for providing country food to all beneficiaries. The Country Food Processing Plant is key in providing country food to Inuvialuit in the ISR Communities.The ideal candidate will have the following combination of education, experience, and knowledge:

  • Clean and maintain tools and equipment
  • Continuously follow-up on rules, regulations, and all other relevant laws guiding country food production
  • Inspection of meat and other related products ahead of processing
  • Prepare and store according to product for easy identification in freezer
  • Observe and maintain safety levels, with particular attention to machinery and electrical equipment
  • Manage inventory, track product distribution, and ensure products align with Inuvialuit and Beneficiary requirements
  • Opportunity to mentor and train others
  • Willingness to complete training such as Food Safety Certification at any time
  • Understanding and compliance with health and safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively
  • On-the-Job Training will be provided, no previous experience required
  • Ability to lift and handle loads up to 40 lbs
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Awareness of hygiene, both personal and work area
  • Compliance with the Inuvialuit Vaccination Policy
