Job Summary:We are seeking a hands-on, guest-oriented individual that considers themselves a "jack-of-all-trades" type. Using power tools and hand tools, our maintenance team provides general labour, maintenance assistance and preventative maintenance functions for the Engineering Department of the hotel.Duties:Maintain the overall good repair of hotel rooms including all facilities, furnishings and fixtures;Complete all work orders as assigned and in a timely manner;Repair and maintain hotel room heating/ventilation system;Perform general plumbing tasks as required to repair sinks, toilets, tubs/showers;Maintain a professional appearance and attitude, contributing to our culture of genuine guest service;Assist with renovation projects and upgrades;Assist with maintaining the kitchen, laundry, pool, spa, and fitness areas & equipment;Perform scheduled preventative maintenance checks throughout all areas of the hotel, front & back, inside & out;Communicate effectively with all other departments in the hotel, including housekeeping, front desk, and F&B;Ensure upkeep of the common areas and grounds;Perform scheduled routine maintenance on equipment by lubricating, cleaning and testing as required;Contribute to the hotel's preparedness during fire and safety emergencies;Respond to guest and staff requests in rooms and public spaces;Use time management skills to prioritize work orders, radio calls, and other general job functions;Maintain safe and environmentally sound work practices;Contribute effectively to a multi-functional team environment;Use both power and hand tools in a safe, efficient manner;Perform other related duties as requested by the Chief Engineer or Executive Team.Qualifications:Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems; strong initiative and attention to detail;Excellent observational skills;Knowledge of AV and computer systems; a willingness to adapt to new technology;A passion for customer service and hospitality; well-developed interpersonal skills;Ability to work safely in unsupervised environment;Ability to lift 50-75 lbs, must be in good physical condition;A demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt to a team environment;Ability to follow direction and instruction.Required Training and Experience:Previous maintenance experience preferred;Painting experience, related machinery and hand tool experience.Required licenses, certificates and registrations:Valid WHMIS certificate is an asset;Valid driver's license is an asset.Do you think you'd make a good candidate Send your resume to the following email address or fax number.
