Job Description

Title: Team Housing ManagerReports to: Director, People and CultureLocation: Inverness, Nova Scotia, CanadaJob Type: Seasonal Full-timeAbout Cabot Cape BretonLocated on over a mile of sandy beach along the coast of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia—and nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the picturesque town of Inverness—Cabot Cape Breton is Canadas first and only authentic links golf resort. Featuring 46 holes of exhilarating golf, including two acclaimed World Top 100 courses, 72 rooms of award-winning accommodation, 19 luxury Golf Villas, with 22 additional homes currently under construction, and exquisite dining in three on-site restaurants, Cabot Cape Breton is intended to excite and inspire at every turn.Position Overview:As the Team Housing Manager, you will manage all of Cabots staff housing buildings, their residents, and staff housing employees. You will ensure the health, safety and comfort of employees that reside in the resort’s staff housing quarters at the Riverview Lodge and the Bunker House.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for taking care of Cabot’s most important asset; our residents live in staff housing.
  • Act as a Cabot ambassador by representing and supporting Cabot’s initiatives and Core Values.
  • Assign staff accommodation rooms in the Riverview Lodge and the Bunker House.
  • Provide staff Leases and answer staff inquiries for signature.
  • Provide property orientation to residents upon arrival, including fire safety, rules and regulations, code of conduct, etc.
  • Train, manage, and schedule the team housing custodian and resident advisors.
  • Live on-site and be on call after working hours for all staff accommodation needs.
  • Create a safe, clean, and fun environment for residents that fosters a positive working and living dynamic.
  • Create a calendar of events (daily, weekly, or monthly).
  • Conduct room inspections upon arrival, departure, and periodically.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and housekeeping of the common areas in all resident quarters are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Liaise with Housekeeping to maintain an appropriate level of supplies, coordinate a cleaning schedule, and do laundry services.
  • Liaise with the Maintenance and Landscaping department to ensure the physical appearance of the grounds, including garbage collecting, grass cutting and pruning for Riverview Lodge and the Bunker House.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures and complete daily security patrols to ensure property and residents are safe.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and safety of the swimming pool (Riverview Lodge).
  • Plan and execute activities such as BBQs, movies, games nights, and more.
  • Liaise with the Maintenance department to create and maintain an ongoing preventative maintenance program for staff housing and ensure that maintenance is completed.
  • Perform minor repairs, and coordinate significant repairs.
  • Respond to resident requests in a friendly and timely manner.
  • Respond to resident lockouts within 30 minutes.
  • Ensure compliance with rental property rules and regulations.
  • Ensure that all key control procedures are followed and maintained.
  • Work and communicate with the HR team on the collection and reimbursement of damage deposits, rent payments and any other financial requirements for housing.
  • Create and complete daily reports on activities, repairs,
  • Reporting all employee concerns and incidents: date, time, person, and detail.
  • Input all maintenance requests in the Asana Cabot Maintenance Reporting and Tracking System.
  • Responsible for working with the housekeeping team to schedule the cleaning of staff housing rooms upon departure.
  • Distribute resident mail.
  • Maintain accurate housing records of residents. Includes lease agreements move-in/out dates.
  • Notify Security of any emergencies.
  • Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team, responding in cases of fire, accident, safety concerns, calls for medical assistance and evacuations if necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications & Skills:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Valid Class 4 Nova Scotia Drivers Licence and clean drivers abstract
  • Previous housing experience an asset
  • Maintenance and cleaning experience an asset
  • 3+ years of supervisory/managerial experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Certification in CPR First Aid
Physical Demands:
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly lifting, carrying, pushing, or otherwise moving objects.
  • Ascending or descending stairs and ramps.
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting.
