What is in it for you:Subsidized staff accommodation provided on-site for full time statusCompetitive extended benefits package including medical, vision and dental for full time permanent statusEmployee Travel ProgramComprehensive Wellness Platform (LifeWorks)Discounts on foodamp; beverage/spa/golfOpportunity to develop your talent and grow within Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge and over 5,000 properties with AccorWhat you will be doing:Reporting to the Executive Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow ColleaguesFollow departmental policies, procedures and service standardsPrepare, cook and service all food items for a la carte and or buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standardsEnsure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipmentHave full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotionsControl waste and spoilage in the assigned departmentEnsure proper labeling, dating andstorage of all items in the kitchenResponsible for ensuring preparation of all pertinent food items for work station and able to maintain the departments level of production and guest expectations in the absence of the Chef de PartieMonitor present and upcoming business volumes as well as food items and to communicate relevant information to their department in a timely mannerHandle guest allergy concerns with appropriate care and importance by reporting to Sous ChefAdhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel vehiclesFollow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverageOther duties as assignedYour experience and skills include:2-3 years kitchen experience in a 4 or 5 star hotel or reputable restaurant requiredSuccessful completion of Alberta’s Food Handler CertificationDiploma or Certification in a Culinary program requiredStrong Knife skills and safe handling is requiredValid Alberta driver’s license an assetExcellent communication and organizational skillsStrong interpersonal and problem solving abilitiesAbility to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervisionAbility to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all timesYour team and working environment:Sitting - 1-2 hrs/dayWalking - 1-8 hrs/dayStanding -6-8 hrs/dayBending/Reaching - 1-3 hrs/dayPushing/Pulling -1-3 hrs/dayPhysical Effort - required to lift up to 50lbsEnvironmental Stress - High - works mainly inside, however outside work may be requiredFast-paced, upscale, luxury hotelClose proximity to Marmot Basin Ski Resort in winter and world-renowned hiking trails in summerHospitality employees worldwide making this a great place to develop lifelong connectionsVisa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
