Head Houseperson - Staff ServicesAs a dynamic member of the Staff Services Team, this position focuses on ensuring the well-being of Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge #39;s employees and residents.This role has an integral impact on the satisfaction and comfort of residents (our guests) in colleague accommodation.What is in it for you:Subsidized staff accommodation provided on-site for full time statusCompetitive extended benefits package including medical, vision and dental for full time permanent statusEmployee Travel ProgramComprehensive Wellness PlatformDiscounts on foodamp; beverage/spa/golfOpportunity to develop your talent and grow within Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge and over 5,000 properties with AccorWhat you will be doing:Reporting to the Colleague Residence Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly serviceCommunicating and scheduling of all non-maintenance tenant requestsFollow departmental policies, procedures and service standardsInitiate and maintain effective communication within the Staff Services Department other departmentsContinuous supervision, training and on-going performance reviews of housepersonsInspect assigned rooms and cabins for cleanliness and maintenanceSupervise the supply, proper use and care of equipment, cleaning supplies.Report all maintenance deficiencies and follow through with repairs in rooms, cabins and surrounding areasClean and maintain all staff areas (outside grounds, R amp;R room, training roomamp; laundry rooms)Ensure that all recycling is carried out dailyDaily supervision of Linen room operations in absence of uniform coordinatorDevelop extensive knowledge of linen room operationsEscort new employees to their room on arrival and provide each with a tour of staff areas (including the Staff Cafeteria)Monitor the rental of equipment and vacuumsAdhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel vehiclesFollow all safety and sanitation practicesOther duties as assignedYour experience and skills include:Previous supervisory experience preferredHousekeeping/janitorial experience an assetExperience with linen room operations an assetValid Alberta driver’s license requiredExcellent communication and organizational skillsStrong interpersonal and problem solving abilitiesHighly responsibleamp; reliableAbility to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervisionAbility to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all timesYour team and working environment:Fast-paced, upscale, luxury hotelClose proximity to Marmot Basin Ski Resorts in winter and world-renowned hiking trails in summerHospitality employees worldwide making this a great place to develop lifelong connections Standing: 4-6 hrs/dayWalking: 4-6 hr/dayBending/reaching: 3 hr/dayPushing/pulling: 1-2 hr/dayPhysical effort: required to lift up to 100 lbs, some repetitive motionEnvironmental stress: high - works in hot/cold conditions, constant inside/outside conditions, some slippery or congested conditions, working alone and in group situationVisa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
