What is in it for you:Subsidized staff accommodation provided on-site for full time statusCompetitive extended benefits package including medical, vision and dental for full time permanent statusEmployee Travel ProgramComprehensive Wellness PlatformDiscounts on foodamp; beverage/fitness centre/spa/golfOpportunity to develop your talent and grow within Fairmont Jasper Park and over 5,000 properties with AccorWhat you will be doing:Reporting to the Recreation Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging servicesFollow departmental policies, procedures, safety and service standardsMaintain cleanliness of Pool, Kids, and Games Rooms, Health Club, Recreation areas including Thermal facilities, Change Rooms, and the Boathouse; follow the daily checklists.Ensure an adequate supply of towels is maintainedEnsure proper and timely recording of all Pool readingsAssist with special events and activities as requiredResponsible for float and management of all revenues during shift from rentals of equipment and sales of merchandiseAssist with familiarizing guests and colleagues to the Recreation facilitiesAssist with the JPL kids’ campsConduct History tours, nature walks, hikes, bike rides, and boat tours as necessaryHave full knowledge of beverage lists and promotionsHave full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methodsDeliver and present food and beverage items to guestsProcess guest checks in a timely and efficient mannerAdhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehiclesFirst responder for water rescues when necessary using motorized rescue boatFollow all safety and sanitation policiesOther duties as assignedYour experience and skills include:Experience with outdoor activities – kayaking, canoeing, biking, and hiking preferredExperience with children in a day camp environment requiredCurrent First Aid and CPR certification required. If the successful candidate does not have these certifications they will obtain within their probationary/evaluation periodRetail experience an assetPleasure Craft Operators Card requiredPro Serve certification requiredAbility to swim, with a Bronze Medallion or equivalent an assetExcellent communication and organizational skillsStrong interpersonal and problem solving abilitiesHighly responsibleamp; reliableAbility to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimal supervisionAbility to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all timesYour team and working environment:Sitting: 1-2 hr/dayWalking: 6-8 hrs/dayStanding: 6-8 hrs/dayBending/Reaching: 6-8 hrs/dayPushing/Pulling: 6-8 hrs/dayPhysical Effort: Required to lift up to 80 – 100 lbsEnvironmental Stress: Medium 24-40 hrs/week outside and working in a very busy and noisy departmentFast-paced, upscale, luxury hotelClose proximity to Marmot Basin Ski Resort in winter and world-renowned hiking trails in summerHospitality employees worldwide making this a great place to develop lifelong connections Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
