Job Description

Reports To: Lift Maintenance Supervisor/Assistant Supervisor Position Overview A Maintenance Laborer assists Mechanics, Electricians and Carpenters in maintaining all assets at Marmot Basin. These assets include but are not limited to: Ski Lifts, Snowmaking Systems, Buildings, water treatment systems and new construction. The incumbent should expect to be working outside in any, all and sometimes adverse weather conditions. This is a full-time seasonal role, 4 days out of 7 per week, 10 hours per day from May through to October each summer season. Please note that you may not receive full-time hours at the beginning/ end of the season. Wage is listed at $16.50/hr. Alberta Employment Standards regarding a ninety-day probationary period applies.Requirements:Must be 18 years or older Class 5 Alberta drivers license w/ clear abstract Must produce clean Alberta driving abstract Must possess an enthusiastic and positive attitude Must be able to lift 50lbs and at times repetitively Must enjoy working outdoors with a team and by themselves Enjoy learning about mechanics. Ability to be a great environmental steward to Jasper National Park Must be able to operate ATV’s and Side by Sides Physically Fit to perform all duties as assigned Preference given to trained lift operatorsAttributes:Professional deportment with excellent customer service skills: experience dealing with all on-hill patrons Cheerful, outgoing personality; demonstrated temperament and disposition for sometimes highly stressful situations Strong team member able to take direction Motivated and observant; able to perceive needed tasks and complete them without direction Self-aware; able to identify strengths and gaps in own abilities and training Able to use taught skills and previous experience to problem solveQualifications:Ski Industry experience (an asset) Previous experience operating surface lifts and aerial chairlifts (an asset) Physically fit to perform all job duties Mechanical background (an asset) Self-motivated and able to work unsupervisedOther detailsPay Type HourlyJob Start Date Monday, May 13, 2024
