Job Description

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke is the organization that provides governmental, administrative, andoperational services to the community of Kahnawà:ke. The organizational structure of the MCK iscomprised of two main sectors: political and administrative/operational. The political sector of the MCKis comprised of the Council of Chiefs and the Office of the Council of Chiefs (OCC). The Council of Chiefsis the primary governing body of the MCK and provides political direction on matters concerningKahnawà:ke and its affairs. The Office of the Council of Chiefs provides support services to the MohawkCouncil of Kahnawà:ke Chiefs.We are looking for a Senior Network Administrator, IMThe main purpose of this job:In collaboration with the Junior Network Administrator, ensures the stable operation of the MCKcomputer network, including all satellite offices. This includes planning, developing, installing,configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, andcommunication links. To analyze and resolve end-user hardware and software computer issues promptlyand accurately and provide end-user training where required.Top Responsibilities:1. Perform network design and capacity planning in collaboration with the IM team.2. Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of service level agreements,procedures and associated training plans as a subject matter expert in the areas of networkresource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery.3. Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network products anddevices.4. Conduct research/analysis and develop recommendations on network products, services,protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.5. Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors.6. Manage servers and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software.7. Manage network security, including firewall, internal and external connections, satellitelocations, and intrusion detection systems.8. Perform server and security audits, system backups and recovery9. Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.10. Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.11. Maintain and upkeep VoIP system and provide support to users where necessary.12. Manage projects related to upgrading the network, servers, firewall, phone system,infrastructure and backup system, overseeing any supplemental project managers, contractors,professional service providers or support technicians related to these projects as needed.Competencies and Qualifications: University Degree or a College Diploma in the field of computer science and two (2) years ofrelevant work experience Certification in MCSE, CCNA or CompTIA (ITF+, A+, Network+, Security+, CySA+) is an asset. Extensive application support and help desk experience. Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols and standards. Knowledge of data privacy standards. Strong written/oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to conduct research into networking issues and products. Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language. Highly self-motivated and directed. Strong customer service orientation. Excellent organizational skills are required; Ability to communicate in the Kanien’kéha language or willingness to learn the Kanien’kéhalanguage is required.Additional info: Include letter of intent with resume In-office position – Located in Kahnawà:ke, Quebec Full-time position – 37.5 hours per week – hours of operation 8:30 am to 4 pm A full job description and the application checklist to be completed can be found athttp://www.kahnawake.com/org/hr/jobs.asp Starting range $1,182.75 to $1,569.38 per week (based on education and experience) Competitive benefits packages, including a defined benefit pension plan.Note: All candidates are welcome to apply but preference will be given to Aboriginalcandidates.
