Job Description

Do you love working on vehicles or GSE What about working around airplanes Well, Executive Aviation is looking for a full-time Auto Technician to work on our Ground Service Equipment (GSE), based at the Kamloops Airport (YKA).This person would enjoy working independently but reporting to the Western Regional Support Technician. They would coordinate and complete all PMI objectives as well as prioritizing, diagnosing, and fixing GSE or vehicle repairs for the base, or other bases as needed. This person would be expected to travel for PMI or maintenance repairs to bases in our network and have on-call responsibilities.The Role

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of all systems associated with work equipment (mechanical, electrical and hydraulic)
  • Evaluate parts for reuse, repair or replacement
  • Use various hand and power tools
  • Operates equipment such as overhead or mobile cranes and forklifts to assist in assignments
  • Investigate and locate equipment problems and take corrective action in order to minimize the impact on crew production
  • Adapts to new methods, processes, material and equipment
  • Prepare and submit equipment maintenance records, time sheets, etc.
  • Follows prescribed safety procedures including the use of safety clothing and equipment 
  • Diagnose equipment problems and determine repair needs; determine priority repairs with guidance from the lead hand
  • On call responsibilities
  • Legally able to travel outside of the country, if needed
Qualifications
  • Licensed Technician/ Apprentice
  • On call availability
  • Must be able to stand, lift, bend, crouch, kneel and push and pull for extended periods of time
  • A physical ability to consistently lift up to 70lbs/32kgs
  • Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather
  • An ability to meet all conditions of employment:
  • Restricted Area pass issued by Transport Canada
  • A criminal background check
  • Hold a valid driver’s license
