Your role will be crucial in safeguarding public safety and maintaining the structural integrity of buildings within the jurisdiction.Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve building plans, ensuring compliance with local building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards.
  • Conduct inspections of construction sites and completed structures to verify adherence to approved plans and regulations.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to architects, engineers, and contractors throughout the construction process.
  • Address and resolve issues or violations related to building codes and standards.
  • Prepare detailed reports on inspections, code compliance, and enforcement actions.
  • Stay current with changes in building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Act as a liaison between the public, construction professionals, and municipal authorities.
  • Lead and supervise a team of building officials, ensuring effective and efficient performance.
Requirements
  • Relevant certification or diploma in Building Inspection, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in building inspection, construction, or a related role, with a proven track record in compliance and enforcement.
  • In-depth knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to manage and mentor a team.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
