Job descriptionHOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR - Role Summary: Responsible for directing the activities of the Housekeeping Department in a manner that will ensure Wingate guests are provided with clean, attractive, well-maintained rooms, and a secure place to stay.   • Recruits, interviews, hires, orients and trains new employees, as well as updates the training of existing employees.
  • Prepares work schedules, ensure daily efficiency standards are met, actual calculations and ensures housekeeping standards are met.
  • Takes monthly or weekly inventories of linen, cleaning chemicals and laundry chemicals. Prepares requisitions or places orders for those items and room supplies. Ensures that budgeted expense goals are met through proper usage and control of those items.
  • Maintains all required employee records such as time cards, comment cards concerning housekeeping staff, schedules, and provides management with all necessary documentation required.
  • Cleans rooms or works in laundry when necessary due to lack of required number of employees, employee absenteeism or lack of projected occupancy.
  • Maintains security for guests and property by insuring that guestroom doors are closed and locked at all times, linen and storage closets are closed and locked at all times, key cards are controlled, lost and found articles are properly logged and securely stored. Reports suspicious activity by guests or others and observes all security and safety measures.
  • Maintains security for employees by insuring that each Room Attendant places their housekeeping cart in front of the guestroom door while cleaning the room, leaves the television and music turned off, places personal items in the employee lockers, and follows all safety and security procedures set by the property.
  • Prepares Room Attendant Daily Report, assigns specific rooms to each room attendant, supervises housekeeping personnel to ensure that carts are properly stocked and that all room cleaning and laundry work assigned is completed according to Wingate by Wyndham’s standards.
  • Inspects all rooms for cleanliness and maintenance issues every day.
  • Reports maintenance issues by completing maintenance slips and follows up in maintenance work in rooms to ensure that work is completed.
  • Prepares and ensures the Daily Room Report is accurate and loaded into the PMS showing accurate status of each room.
  • Maintains the First Aid kit to ensure that it is completely stocked at all times.
  • Ensures the employee break room is comfortable, clean and well maintained.
  • Maintains a file or notebook with all SDS sheets.
What we are looking for
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in hotel housekeeping supervisory role, laundry or similar experience is ideal
  • Ability to work independently

  • This role is a physically demanding role and may include repetitive bending, pulling, carrying, lifting and pushing (up-to 75 lbs.)
