Job Description

KANATA ON - Job Area: LogisticsYou’ve spent the last few years honing your negotiation & organizational skills, and now you want to take yourself to the next level. This is the opportunity you have been waiting for: join our team of talented professionals, put your fresh ideas & creative problem-solving to good use and become the Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator at SSi!KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Coordinating procurement, shipping, and freight solutions;Creation of Purchase Orders – submitting PO to vendor, updating tickets and staying on top of orders from start to finish;Hands on assistance with shipments (packing, organizing, label making, envelop stuffing) ;Coordination efforts / advanced project planning (eg. orders, shipments, space and warehousing requirements, staffing / hours of effort needed etc);Maintaining a working knowledge of local, national and international carriers (air and surface) and researching more efficient shipping methods to improve company margins;Conducting regular inventory counts and audits;Maintaining relationships with various vendors, suppliers and shipping companies.Managing inventory in NetsuiteFollowing up with vendors for order status, ensuring product arrives when expectedSafety and organization of Shipping & Receiving DepartmentPrioritization of all logistics, shipping / receiving tasks including successful and timely completionProcess improvement, process documentation, and issue documentationSpares Management: Maximize utilization of inventory system / process to effectively manage sparesInventory Management: Work with product to ensure SSi does not run out of stockCoordination efforts / advanced project planning (eg. orders, shipments, space and warehousing requirements, staffing / hours of effort needed etc)YOU’RE A NATURAL FIT, BECAUSE YOU HAVE:4 + years of logistics / purchasing experienceStrong time management skills with an emphasis on meeting deadlines;The ability to manage demands, to excel under pressure and to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events in the work environment;Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills (Excel) and the ability to learn new software quickly;A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicleGeneral availability after-hours and on weekends by cell phoneICING ON THE CAKEExperience working with Netsuite and JiraSound knowledge of remote and Northern logisticsSound knowledge of telecom and networking equipmentExperience working in Telecommunications
