Job Description

Position: Mechanical Engineer / Technician Location: Kapuskasing, ON – PapermillRequirements:

  • Language: English (spoken and written) and French is an asset.
  • Education: University degree in Mechanical Engineering or College Equivalent.
  • 3 – 5 years experience in the field or related field.
  • Member of a Canadian Professional Engineers Association is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Report to the Manufacturing Services Manager.
  • Lead root cause analysis and find solutions.
  • Perform weekend duty when required.
  • Support compliance with collective agreement and sound union / management / employee relations.
  • Promote and provide a safe workplace, seek improvements, support Healthamp; Safety Program.
  • Manage and lead projects, project assistance and studies assigned while abiding to environmental guidelines and regulations.
  • Abide by internal procedures and controls for engineering and construction activities that conform to sound financial maintenance and operating plans.
  • Ensure capital projects are prepared and completed in conformance with CPA guidelines and control.
  • Advise and recommend changes or opportunities to the Papermill to reduce operating costs.
  • Identify capital projects providing opportunities to maximize profitability to the Papermill operations.
  • Recommending of spare parts and purchasing of standard equipment.
