Job Description

We are a team of dedicated professionals committed to providing exceptional speech-language pathology services, occupational therapy services, and autism diagnostic assessments to Timmins, Sudbury, and surrounding communities.If you are passionate about working with children with communication challenges, enjoy having FUN, and are self-driven to learn, then this is the job for you.We are looking for communication disorder assistant or therapy assistant to provide services to children in Kapuskasing, Ontario and surrounding communities.Key Responsibilities · Provide treatment to pediatric clients who present with a broad range of communication difficulties· Work under the supervision of a regulated healthcare professional (SLP, OT, etc.)· Follow a treatment plan outlined by a Speech-Language Pathologist or Occupational Therapist to provide fun and engaging therapy sessions· Document all client contact and progress towards goals· Work as part of a team including Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and other Communicative Disorders Assistants/Therapy Assistants· Regularly communicate with supervising SLP or OT· Adjust treatment strategies to the unique needs of each client· Creatively problem-solve to provide treatment programs catered to individual clients and settingsQualifications

  • Communicative Disorders Assistant graduate certificate is an asset. Other qualifications that would be considered include university or college degree with focus on child development, linguistics, ABA, or education (e.g., teacher, ECE, CYW, etc.)
  • Comfortable with technology, including video conferencing technology (training would be provided)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Preference will be given to candidates that are bilingual and can communicate in French and English
  • 1 year or more experience working with children with communication challenges
This position is full-time, although part-time positions may be considered.
