Elmhirst’s Resort is a family owned and operated year-round Resort business, located on Rice Lake (approximately 25 minutes from Peterborough). Our guests include international travelers, families, groups, and conference delegates. The Housekeeping Team is accountable for general cleanliness of guest cottages, public areas, laundry and guest laundry rooms, meeting rooms, food & beverage outlets.What do we offer: - A positive and constructive work environment- This opportunity is Saturday workday shifts only, may lead to part time availability- Fair scheduling, (no “on-call” shifts, collaboration in schedule building)- Paid 40 min break every shift- All training is conducted during paid shifts, on the job training- Staff meals during all shifts- Opportunities for professional development and cross train with other Resort departments- Access to resort facilities at no charge, some restrictions apply- Regular performance reviews- A culture that is diverse and inclusive (2SLGBTQIA+ Chamber of Commerce, Rainbow Registered Accredited)- A beautiful rural, lakefront environment and a real commitment to sustainability (Sustainable Tourism 2030 Gold Certified member)- Recognized as a leader in hospitality careers and employment (TIAO Tourism Employer of the Year 2019)Housekeeper Responsibilities: - Ensuring cottages are clean and perfectly staged for guest arrival- Maid service and towel exchange, refreshing conference rooms- Laundry of towels, linens, bedding and dining room napkins- Working to standards outlined in company manuals- Reports to Supervisor on duty- Handling special requests (crib deliveries, welcome packages)- Working as part of the Housekeeping Team in conjunction with other departments- Working without supervision on occasion- Keen attention to detail- Complete spring and fall cleaning in cottages- Driving company vehicle on property in a responsible manner- Adhere to a health and safety protocols- Always display a professional appearance- Other tasks identified by Supervisor as requiredRequirements- This position requires physical activity (making beds, moving furniture, vacuuming, dusting, lifting laundry from commercial washers to dryers, spring and fall cleaning duties)- Able to lift 40lbs- Ability to work Saturdays and holiday shifts- Previous experience an asset but not requiredWork Remotely
