Job Description

Are you a knowledgeable Human Resources professional with experience in a unionized environment Do you have strong communication, a progressive leadership style, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability balance multiple priorities If so, we want you on our Human Resources Team!As the successful candidate reporting to the Associate Director, Human Resources, you will be responsible for managing and providing guidance on all HR programs to foster a culture of collaboration and achieve good working relations among the organization.In your role, you will:1. Manage recruitment and onboarding, healthamp; safety, employee performance management, benefits and compensation, training and development, and HR policies and administration.2. Support the Associate Director in the areas of labour relations, collective agreement administration and policy development.3. Manage the Occupational Health and Safety Program.4. Manage accommodation requests, WorkSafe BC, disability claims and mental health supports.5. Conduct and manage workplace investigations as required.6. Implement HR initiatives and training to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and advance corporate strategic priorities.

  • Partner with managers to implement personalized development plans and performance management processes.
  • Develop programs to assess and monitor organization wide training and development requirements.
  • Assess and track effectiveness of training and development programs.
  • Support the Associate Director of HR in the implementation of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
7. Identify emerging legislative changes and inform the Associate Director of potential impacts on HR programs.8. Oversee full cycle recruitment and onboarding for the organization and manages the process for exempt staff.9. Manage the Compensation Program by ensuring Job Descriptions are current and appropriately evaluated and assist with development of salary and benefit guidelines.10. Manage the performance review process for exempt staff.11. Audit HR department administration and processes to ensure compliance with collective agreement, legislation, policies and best practices.You will be an incredible match for this role if you have a degree in Management or Business with a focus in Human Resources, a minimum of five years #39; experience in a Human Resources generalist leadership role and a CPHR designation. You will have working knowledge of labour relations practices, Human Rights, Employment Standards Act, WorkSafe BC regulations and collective agreement applications. It is critical to the success of this role that you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong desire to take initiative and problem solve.This is an exempt position that has a salary range of $114,850 - $127,600 - $140,350.
