Job purposeAs a Dining Room Server at Cobble Beach, you are responsible for the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. You will be required to be an expert on both the food and beverages being served at the establishment. You will be expected to present yourself in a professional manner which reflects the upscale casual environment of your workplace. Special attention should be paid to providing exceptional customer service at every step of service, enhancing the overall guest experience. Being a team player and working together with your peers on the service team and culinary team to achieve the ultimate guest experience is imperative.Duties and responsibilities§ Learn all details of menu and anticipate questions that may be asked§ Learn wine list/ cocktail list§ Follow steps of service, ensuring no steps are missed§ Ensure guest satisfaction§ Professionally deal with complaints/ issues guests may have§ Keep a clean/ tidy workplace§ Bartending- learn cocktail list/ popular cocktails§ Recommend items from menu having knowledge of flavours on dish§ Recommend wines/ cocktails understanding flavour profiles§ Stock, organize, clean restaurant work stations§ Answer phone/ take reservations§ Learn about Cobble Beach Resort§ Notice/ take advantage of opportunities to up-sellQualifications· Smart Serve Certification· 1-3 years serving experience· Food and wine knowledge an assetWorking conditionsThis position you to be available anytime the restaurant is open. This includes Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Banquets and special occasions. This position maybe long hours and will include working on holidays.Physical requirements· Might be working on your feet for 8-10 hours· Ability to lift approx. 40 lbs· do repetitive tasks with few breaks· is required to stand for extended periods of timeCobble Beach Employee Perks:Golf: Staff golf is complimentary after two weeks of employment with some conditionsGuest fees including power cart are $99 when accompanied by staff before 3:00 pm, and the fee is $69 after 4:30 pm.
