Job Description

1 Full Time PositionWe provide client-centered, wholistic primary health care through an interprofessional, team-based model of care. Services comprise a range of options including prevention, assessment, diagnosis and treatment based on traditional and contemporary models of care, using wholistic health and community development concepts.This position coordinates clinic administration services to ensure effective support for providers and excellent customer service for our clients. The Clinical Administrator works in conjunction with clinical providers (both internal and external) to facilitate access for clients requiring health care services. The Clinical Administrator must fully understand and appreciate the organization’s wholistic approach and ensure that this approach is maintained in all activities.NOTE: traditional practices involve burning sacred medicines including tobacco, sweetgrass, sage and cedar within the work setting.QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education in health administration or social services; equivalent combination of education and experience in a healthcare setting – including solid knowledge of medical terminology – may be considered
  • Minimum three years supervisory experience
  • Personal experience and understanding of traditional Anishinaabe culture and healing practices; ability to work in a collaborative, de-colonial, trauma-informed, and client-centered approach and to support WNHAC values in meaningful ways; ability to understand and speak Anishinaabemowin a definite asset
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with a wide variety of people; strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent knowledge of available resources
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and other IT applications
  • Valid drivers’ license and own vehicle required; copy of current drivers’ abstract required
  • Current vulnerable persons record check required
  • Commitment to ongoing training and professional development relevant to the job requirements
  • Positive attitude and capacity to act as a healthy lifestyle role model
