The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, and the North West Region Commander are seeking a qualified individual to join our Detachment. In this exciting, rewarding and challenging opportunity, you will manage court case files for a Detachment, providing liaison services with the court and monitoring the progress of files through the court system. We are the largest police service in Ontario and the second largest in Canada.North West Region (NWR) serves an area of 478,606 square kilometers. Our jurisdiction extends from the eastern border of Manitoba to the northern border of the State of Minnesota, to Hudsons Bay in the north and White River to the east. The region includes three districts (Kenora, Rainy River and Thunder Bay) and is divided between eastern and central time zones.Kenora is located in the south western corner of North West Region. Our detachment consists of 5 civilian members, 82 of uniformed officers and 12 of auxiliary volunteers. Within the City of Kenora, you can also find regional hubs for Forensic Identification Services, In-Service Training and the Canine Unit.
