The goal is to provide an accessible home-based family-centered support to people with infants or children who have concerns with their children’s development.Position Title: Infant/Youth Development WorkerDepartment: Niigaanning Bimaadizwin Child and Youth Development Services ProgramTerm: Full-time PermanentLocation: 820 Lakeview Dr, Kenora ON P9N 3P7Reports to: Child and Youth Development Services Implementation ManagerResponsibilitiesØ Provide Support for children and their families by performing diagnostic screening assessments;Ø Develop individual plans for children and families to help transition into school;Ø Provide information and education to families regarding child development and parenting strategies;Ø Provide assessment and referrals for infants to 6 years old children;Ø Advocate families to group parenting programs, community services, professionals or securing specialized funding to meet child’s needs;Ø Experience with case management and child advocacy models;Ø Experience providing services within First Nations communities;Ø Facilitate linkages to community providers and local agencies;Ø Maintain statistics required by the Ministry and the Program with regard to qualitative and quantitative aspects of the Program;Ø Perform additional functions as required.QualificationsØ College diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution with experience in children services;Ø Requirement of at least 2 years’ experience working with infants and children;Ø Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills;Ø Excellent computer skills;Ø Knowledge of the Anishinaabe culture and language;Ø Ability to work both independently and as a team member.Additional RequirementsØ Valid driver’s license and vehicleØ Willingness to travel to all Treaty 3 First Nation Communities as per program needsØ Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records SearchWere looking to grow our teams with people who share our energy and enthusiasm forcreating the best experience for our clients and within KCA.
