Job Description

Purpose of Position:We are seeking a Psychometrist to join the FIREFLY team in our Kenora office. The Psychometrist is a key member of the Child and Youth Development Services Team. Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the Psychometrist provides assessment, follow up and consultative services for eligible clients/children and their families. The Psychometrist will ensure that referred children and their families receive comprehensive psychological services from a holistic perspective that respects the rights of clients to the least intrusive and most appropriate options available.Key Job Functions:

  • In consultation with the clinic Psychologist, provide psychometric, clinical, and behavioural assessments to clients by selecting and administering the most appropriate tests and assessment tools
  • Maintain case records by completing all clinical recordings and writing professional reports
  • Communicate findings by providing written reports to psychologist and participating in clinic conferences
  • Administrative documentation as required including entry into FIREFLY’s Electronic Charting System.
  • Travel within the Region required
Education/Experience/Skills/Knowledge Required:
  • Master’s degree in psychology or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three years’ experience with psychometric testing
  • Eligible for Registration with an Ontario College of Regulated Health Professionals
  • Competency in the use of standardized assessment tools, behavioural intervention, and knowledge of child development
  • Understanding of the needs and demands of educational, medical, and other systems as they pertain to the area of psychology
  • Capability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Advanced communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Proficient word processing and data entry skills
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing
