The Manager of Ag Innovation is responsible to develop the strategy, structure and processes required, to ensure Simplot Grower Solutions is the leader in the utilization of digital technology as it applies to crop production, to the extent that farm customers who value technology view Simplot Grower Solutions as their desired partner.The work location for this position will be Southern Alberta and Western/Central Saskatchewan.Key ResponsibilitiesPrecision Agriculture Support Lead

• Develop and annual precision Ag Strategy in close cooperation with the Agronomy Manager
• Develop appropriate fees for service model that provides value to customers and profit margin to the company
• Develop training process to ensure competency by all Simplot Grower Solutions sales reps and agronomy team
• Organize and conduct training for all employees in cooperation with Regional Managers and Agronomy Leads

Digital Tools Manager

• Oversee the development of hardware and software tools to support account managers and agronomists with customers
• Determine appropriate supplier partners to support tools for teams
• Over development of Simplot Grower Solutions 3-year digital tools plan including a budget for approval by Leadership Team.
• Work closely with the Digital Sales team to ensure that digital tools are easily compatible existing digital tools.

Industry Liaison

• Establish and maintain strong relationships and large industry network
• Communicate with designated representatives for manufactures and distributors
• Learn and upgrade knowledge of new products and product updates on chemical, fertilizer, and seed as required
• Maintain strong working knowledge of key industry people and competitors

Typical Education

• Degree or Diploma in Agriculture

Relevant Experience

• Minimum of 5 years Agronomy experience
• Knowledge of application equipment, willing to network with experts in the industry for support (John Deere, Case IH, etc)
• Knowledge of West Central Canada production practices

Other Information

• Establish equipment and digital tools technology as a differentiator for Simplot Grower Solutions over other crop input retails as well as private agrologists and equipment companies.
• Continually update corporate competency in the technology areas that Simplot Grower Solutions needs to grow in
• Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with Regional Managers, Sales Agronomists, Agronomists, and Account Managers
• Primary support for team members in new evolving culture
• Ensure communication of direction to team members and that all team members have a clear understanding of the organizational direction and their roles, responsibilities, and expectationsEnsure that training requirements for all team members are met and completed on time
