Job Description

Reporting to the Manager of Recreation Programs and Special Events, or designate, the Part Time Program and Event Support will help administration with the implementation of Town lead programs and events.Some of the job responsibilities of the position include:

    1. Provide instruction to children and provide feedback to participates
    2. Ensures that equipment and supplies are set up, operational, and put away after use
    3. Provides administrative support for programs/events.
    4. Support and/or lead leisure programs such as children’s birthday parties, movie nights, sports and/or arts and craft nights, or other events
    5. Support events such as Migration Festival, Fantasy of Lights, and Communities in Blooms.
    6. Ensure compliance with the Town and legislated policies and procedures
    7. Respond to customer inquiries, and provide exceptional customer service
    8. Provide suggestions on program improvements
    9. Uses High Five in the planning and delivering of programs
    10. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
    1. Must be 16 years of age or older
    2. Must be able to work weekends, weeknights, and PA days
    3. Proficient and experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
    4. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and work independently.
    5. Communication, interpersonal and customer service skills to listen and exchange information in a professional manner
    6. Must be creative and flexible
    7. Valid standard First Aid and CPR/AED certification, or be willing to be trained.
Working Conditions
  • Work is typically performed in both standard offices and outdoor environments with the potential exposure to adverse weather conditions.
  • The normal work schedule for the Student Program and Event Support shall be ten (10) hours per week.
  • Work hours will be weekends, after school, PA days or holidays.
