Position Vacancy: Admin Secretary 7 - Oncology Prevention ClinicUnion: UNIFOR ClericalLocation: Grand River Regional Cancer CentreWork Type: Full TimeShift: UNIFOR FTHours of work: Monday to Friday, daysJob Summary:Reporting to the Manager of the Regional Cancer Program, you will provide secretarial support to the Program Manager Duties include compiling, transcribing and work processing correspondence, documents and proposals; preparing spreadsheets and maintaining data files, filing systems and manuals. Coordination function will include scheduling appointments, meetings and educational events for the regional program. You will handle confidential information and assist with corporate projects and goals. Contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitorsQualifications:

  • Post Secondary School plus 3 years senior secretarial experience in a health care facility or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Diploma in Business Office Management with a focus in Health Care is preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in accurate minute taking.
  • Previous experience creating training manual and standard operating procedures an asset
  • Excellent knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio and Project)
  • Proficiency in keyboarding minimum of 65-75 wpm.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize work in a busy setting, set objectives and manage time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to foster good working relationships with physicians, hospital staff and patients.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and reliability and ability to maintain confidentially.
  • Flexibility in work hours essential
  • Medical Terminology essential
  • Knowledge and experience with creating and compiling results of staff performance appraisals using Survey Monkey.
  • Experience with creating web pages on lotus link.
  • Good attendance record
