Traverse Independence offers an incredible variety of supports and services for those who have an acquired brain injury (ABI) to live independently in the community. One of these exceptional services is our outreach program. As an outreach worker you will work in a low barrier program, building trusted relationships with your clients, which in turn will allow you to support them to work on independence in the community. This inspiring program makes a major difference in the lives of our clients and in partnership with your clients, you will experience great satisfaction as they achieve their goals, improve their quality of life and cope with their day-to-day activities. You will report to an Outreach Coordinator, in a team that includes regulated staff such as ABI specialized psychiatrists, an Occupational Therapist, Behaviour Therapist and an Intensive Case Coordinator. You will provide support to individuals in their homes or in community settings across the Region of Waterloo. Experience with people with Acquired Brain Injuries is a benefit, but not necessary as we offer a comprehensive training program both internally and through the Ontario Brain Injury Association. This is a great opportunity to add an ABI specialization to your skillset. Candidates must have proven organizational skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills (both written an oral), and the ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team with a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office products.Community Facilitator Requirements:Education:
