Job Description

Our suite of end-to-end foodservice technology solutions helps professionals across healthcare and aging services streamline their operations, save time, reduce food waste, and meet regulatory requirements, so they can focus on what matters most: improving the quality of patient and resident care.We’re looking for our next Financial Analyst/Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a crucial role in the financial management of MealSuiteamp; CloudStorm Ventures and will report directly to the Controller. This position involves a combination of financial analysis, reporting, and data interpretation to maintain accurate financial records and make informed decisions by ensuring the accuracy, transparency, and compliance of financial transactions. This role works closely with other members of the Finance team and various departments to support financial reporting, analysis and compliance activities. A day in the life as a Financial Analyst/Accountant:1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare monthly financial reporting and perform in-depth financial analysis of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Analyze key financial metrics and performance indicators to identify trends and provide insights to management
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation in compliance with accounting standards and other regulations
2. Reconciliation:
  • Reconcile accounts, including bank statements, general ledger accounts, and intercompany transactions
  • Identify discrepancies or errors and work to resolve them promptly
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity in financial systems and software
3. Compliance:
  • Stay updated on accounting principles, standards, and regulatory requirements in both Canadian and American jurisdictions
  • Support efforts to implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets
4. Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial procedures and systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency
If the below describe your knowledge, experience and character, this role could be for you:
  • I gained my accounting knowledge through a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and 3+ years of direct experience in an accounting role; experience in a multi-currency environment with multiple entities is preferred
  • I have a CPA or am working toward a CPA certification
  • I have experience with Excel, QuickBooks, Salesforce, and Certinia or similar software
  • I have knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory requirements; experience with both ASPE and US GAAP is preferred
  • I have excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • I have effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • I am able to work semi-autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced environment
  • I’m willing to occasionally travel and have a valid passport and no travel restrictions that limit my ability to cross the border between Canada and the USA
  • I thrive in an agile environment that is constantly changing and encourages team members to collectively collaborate and communicate
  • I love to be directly involved in projects and initiatives that offer continued learning and endless opportunity to express my ideas and build my leadership skills
