OUR COMPANYPWO Canada is a Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier for auto manufacturers globally. We are one of five subsidiaries in the PWO AG Group, manufacturing lightweight metal components for the automotive industry.PURPOSE OF POSITIONThe Sales Technician position is responsible for calculating, submitting and negotiating in the quotation process from receipt of quotes through to follow up with customers. The individual coordinates estimates from the Tooling and Production departments and Subcontractors. The position responds to customer inquiries, maintaining existing account sales contracts and assisting in the development of new accounts and production projects.NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITIONThe Sales Technician position accurately and effectively processes quotations from the receipt of quotes through to customer follow-ups. The position has no direct reports but may provide guidance to the Administration, Logistics, Shipping and Receiving, Production, Tooling, and Quality Departments and personnel.The Sales Technician will work closely together with the Key Account Managers and the Sales Director supporting all sales activity for customer accounts. The position The position may receive work assignments from Key Account Managers and the Sales Director. Internally, the Sales Technician provides information to, and gets information from, all levels within the organization. Externally, the position has regular contact with subcontractors, with potential and existing customers, in cases being responsible for a customer account.QUALIFICATIONSEducation: A post-secondary degree in Business Management or Engineering with some additional education in Quality Management is required. ASQ certification is a definite asset. Knowledge and Skills: The position must have an excellent understanding of inspection methods and procedures and quality standards. The incumbent must be able to use measuring equipment, micrometers, venires and height gauges. The incumbent must be able to read blueprints and schematics, and have an understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerances. An ability to use Microsoft Office and MRP system is a must. Knowledge in SAP Automotive Industry Software is required. Management skills such as delegation, problem solving, organization, leadership, time management and interpersonal skills are required. Candidates should demonstrate a robust understanding of data analysis methodologies, coupled with advanced proficiency in Business Intelligence (BI) tools and frameworks. The ability to leverage BI insights effectively to inform strategic decision-making will be considered a significant advantage and a key differentiator for this role.Communication Skills: Organized, calm disposition and strong communication skills to interact with customers, co-workers and subordinates.Nature and Length of Experience: At least five years experience in a similar job and manufacturing environment is preferred.
