For more information, visit miovision.com.Position SummaryThe Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting, is a key team member in the Company’s Corporate Finance team. Reporting to the Director, Finance, you will assist with establishing the financial standards for the Company and work cross-functionally to ensure accounting policies are implemented operationally. This includes development of accounting policies, establishment of efficient and accurate reporting processes and implementation of internal controls to ensure the highest standard of financial reporting. This role will also focus on technical accounting issues, compliance and M amp;As.Key Accountabilities

  • Assess the impact of technical accounting issues under both ASPE and IFRS, including revenue recognition, business combinations, leases, effects of changes in foreign exchange rates
  • Prepare journal entries to record the impact of technical accounting issues, including managing revenue schedules/module.
  • Manage external audit as the first point of contact for all queries raised and provision of information
  • Assist with M amp;A activities including due diligence and post-acquisition integration activities
  • Research and assist in establishing accounting policies for a growing company
  • Develop process improvements to support more efficient financial reporting cycles
  • Identify risks and internal control gaps, as well as design controls to mitigate risks and address gaps
  • Perform ad-hoc projects, reports and analysis as required
Skills/Qualifications
  • 5+ years work experience in accounting, preferably with a mix of industry and public accounting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • CPA or equivalent designation
  • Proven technical accounting ability and can identify opportunities for improvement and ownership of driving these to completion
  • Exposure to IFRS 15 and ASPE Section 3400
  • Superior process documentation skills
  • Advanced level competency in Microsoft Office
  • Dedicated team player, who takes ownership of tasks assigned, demonstrates initiative and independence
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Able to tailor communication style and approach to different levels in the organization
  • Must be able to recommend alternatives and provide options
  • Thrives in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
