Join us in creating a sustainable future and becoming a protector of tomorrow!SIGN-ON BONUS - $2 500A Senior Waste Water Treatment Technician is responsible for the sorting and manipulating waste products in boxes, bags, drums, totes and other containers to ensure proper disposal, waste treatment and waste water treatment. Additionally, the Senior Water treatment Technician is responsible for the proper loading and unloading of vehicles including vacuum trucks and tankers. The Senior Waste Water Treatment Technician will draw samples and perform analysis in order to determine the correct source of treatment for contaminated water. The Senior Waste Water treatment Technician will treat waste by adding materials necessary to alter the chemical nature of solid and liquid waste in a manner that is safe and secure at all times. The Senior Waste Water Treatment Technician will ensure strict operating procedures and safety standards are followed at all times. The Senior Waste Water Treatment Technician will lead a team of Waste Technicians.Key Job Activities:

  • Leading waste treatment and waste water treatment methods and processes
  • Sampling, lab analysis and data-entry
  • Loading and unloading hazardous and non-hazardous liquid waste from tankers, totes, vacuum trucks
  • Using chemistry to determine treatment courses for contaminated waste water.
  • Adding chemicals to contaminated waters and completed waste water treatment.
  • Forklift operation
  • Operating and maintaining plant equipment
  • Sorting, Dumping and Packing of waste items by hazardous and non-hazardous categories.
  • Data entry
  • Completion of production reports
  • Other task as required
Key Competencies:
  • Knowledge of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods preferred.
  • Knowledge of Ontario and Canadian Hazardous waste regulations preferred.
  • Background in Chemistry and Water Treatment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates the ability to positively execute the services of the business.
  • Demonstrates the ability to make sound decisions after considering all facts, potential risks, customer needs, and alternative solutions when dealing with all types of issues.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work in a safe, responsible and ethical manner either alone or under direct supervision.
