GrizzlyTrek invest in our people, our relationships and our partners, ensuring ready to work individuals meet job opportunities that create lasting success for them and our business partners Class 1 Truck DriverLocation: Kitimat, BCRole Summary: As a Class 1 Driver for our client, you will be responsible for safely operating a roll-off cable truck and trailer in diverse weather and challenging worksite environments in Kitimat, BC. Your role will involve compliance with all traffic safety legislation, conducting inspections, participating in safety meetings, and ensuring proper load management and documentation.Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate roll-off cable truck and trailer in diverse weather and challenging worksite environments.
  • Comply with all site and jurisdiction traffic safety legislation.
  • Inspect transport units and loads (pre-trip and post-trip) to ensure safe operations as required by jurisdiction and/or NSC standards.
  • Attend and participate in Clients safety meetings.
  • Complete all required daily safety paperwork.
  • Ensure load is always properly secured and within legal load limits.
  • Complete and submit all documentation on a timely basis. This includes logbooks, equipment inspection reports, time tickets, accompanying manifests, trip records, fuel, and credit card receipts (JSA’s and WSRA’s).
  • Ensure all clients safety policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensure all labels are completed in full including shipping name, generator name, approval number, TDG Class, UN number, Packing Group number, load number, etc.
  • Inspect all waste material to ensure compliance with manifest, recycle docket, and bill of lading descriptions.
  • Communicate effectively daily with Dispatch to maximize customer needs and Clients efficiencies.
  • Complete minor preventative maintenance such as greasing, air filter checks, brake adjustments, and settings.
Skills, Experience,amp; Qualifications:
  • Class 1 driver’s license.
  • Minimum of 3 years of driving experience in the transportation industry.
  • Roll-off experience is considered an asset.
  • Excavator experience is considered an asset.
  • Must have a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Solid knowledge base with respect to Hours of Service, load securement, and driving regulations.
  • Solid understanding of TDG, specifically placarding and manifest completion.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts with uncertain start and finish times.
