• Assist in the design, development, delivery and coordination of all technical/safety/equipment training programs.
• Participate in training relating to the delivery of Distribution Lines, Transmission Lines, MEARIE Utility and Safety programs.
• Plan, organize, develop, and deliver training to full time/temporary staff and provide SME technical guidance on the more complex aspects related to Provincial Lines and MEARIE Utilities.
• Review and/or prepare deliverable materials associated with all aspects of training for employees in all Lines of Business (LoB).
• Assist in the design, development, delivery and coordination of all technical/safety/equipment training programs.
• Coordinate training plans with Internal and external resource’s and customersto ensure timelyand appropriate training is delivered.
• Training could be delivered throughout the Province as well as Provincial Lines and MEARIE Utilities training at our Kleinburg facility.
• Ensure information is consistent amongst instructors and available on TDS.
• Ensure course content is current via subject matter experts.
• Receive assignment and outline of requirements from Supervisor.
• Perform necessary field and office research.
• Maintain an awareness of the continuing development in training personnel and keep abreast of the changing pace of modern technology.
• Utilize theoretical and practical application’s for instructing trainees and other staff including trades, technicians, technologists.
• Perform other duties as required.

Selection Criteria:

• Requires familiarity with organization and operation of Hydro One in order to serve client needs.
• Must be familiar with Hydro One rules and Transmission Lines, Construction, Stations standards, and MEARIE Utility procedures as they apply to the power system and Lines,
• Must have experience with presentation and instruction to both small and large groups.
• Must have experience in development and delivery of training programs.
• Requires experience in the delivery of training programs.
• Must be familiar with associated legislation, Highway traffic Act, OHSA, Book 7, LoB, SLA’s, HS&E Management System and applicable H1 Policies and procedures.
• Requires performing duties such as driving long distances, operating types of work equipment, standing and/or walking for varying periods of time while instructing or making presentations.
• Must be able to work on your own and have excellent organization abilities and be able to demonstrate.
• Requires a knowledge of English and oral and written communication skills to prepare for, develope and present lessons, examinations, teaching aids and comprehensive reports, manuals and practicalexercise modules.
• Required knowledge/skill normally obtained through completion of a diploma program from a recognized College or through 8 to 10 years experience in the Lines Trade.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities necessary.
• Successful completion of the 434A Power Line Technician Red Seal Exam.
• Completion of or Instructing of BES 1, 4A, 5, 16, and 23 would be an asset
• Computer Skills – Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, HOLMS, HODS is essential and being able to demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills are an absolute must.
• Post Secondary Degree is an asset.
• May require periods of extensive travel and time away from home to deliver training to both Internal/External Clients.
• A written qualification test, and Instructional Presentation will be part of the Interview process
