Job Description

Extraction TechnicianPosition OverviewThe Extraction Technician supports the preparation and execution of the extraction process.This position is in a licensed facility and is responsible for assisting in monitoring and maintaining extractions of cannabis oil, workplace cleanliness, safety and efficiency of the manufacturing processes. The Extraction Technician will follow the company’s standard operating procedures and quality control measures to maintain production of high-quality products. The position is responsible for carrying out day-to-day tasks including cannabis prepping, cleaning, measuring, and assisting with extracting, refining, and packaging of cannabis products. The extraction technician will perform processing of extracts from biomass to final extract products.This position also requires flexibility in hours. Initial training will take place during regular business hours with the possible intent that the technician will extend the work day to enable additional extractions per day.Lab experience and/or knowledge of chemistry is preferred but not required.Time Management, Communication, Attendance and Punctuality are vital to the execution of these tasks. Upon completion of training, the ability to work safely and independently is a requirement.Report To: Lab ManagerEssential Responsibilities and duties

  • Ensure proper personal protective equipment before performing any production activities by using approved safety clothing and procedures.
  • Preparation of bio-mass pre-extraction including packing sleeves for extraction.
  • Track all biomass used and document usage with internal tracking measures.
  • Provide cleaning and sanitation of the extraction laboratory and glassware.
  • Understand and comply to procedures, methodologies, and compliance steps for processing cannabis product as directed.
  • Perform extractions and other post-extraction processing.
  • Assist with the weighing, packaging, labeling, and documentation of all products, as well as the tracking of batch numbers, lot numbers, and expiration dates.
  • Provide assistance with maintenance of facility and equipment as requested.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Cannabis Extraction and post-processing.
  • Chef, Cooking or food preparation experience is an asset
  • Proper understanding of Sanitation, contamination prevention and general cleanliness.
  • Familiar with industry terminology, scientific techniques and processes in a commercial cannabis extraction lab.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving and challenging environment.
  • High level of integrity and a strong work ethic.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; team player.
  • Ability to work comfortably and effectively within a diverse, multicultural, multi-generational environment.
  • Must have transportation, be 19+, with a valid ID with no violent crime charges and able to pass background screening if required
Education/ Experience: High School Diploma, Chemistry preferred but not requiredPreferred Work Experience: 1 to 2 years working in a extraction lab or food preparation environment.Language Skills: Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.Other Skills, Abilities And/Or Training
  • Knowledge of cannabis regulation.

  • Ability to work within the company’s strategic approach as designed by the executive team.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and duties of this job.Regularly required to do the following activities:
  • Stand dynamically for periods without a break.
  • Maintain balance while walking, standing or crouching.
  • Twist upper torso.
  • Reach up and out with hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift 20 to 50 pounds and carry a distance of 50-100 feet.
