  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, development, leaves, performance management, and terminations, ensuring compliance with company policies and legislation.
  • Provide guidance to managers and supervisors on employee performance, investigations, and HR best practices, handling sensitive matters with discretion.
  • Act as a trusted HR resource across departments, promoting positive employee relations, communication, and organizational development initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, manage internal communications, coordinate mandatory training, and support staffing needs including agency worker management.
  • Contribute to key HR projects and champion continuous improvement in processes, culture, and policy implementation.
  • Administer bi-weekly payroll and ensure compliance with payroll laws, tax regulations, and year-end requirements (e.g., T4s, ROEs, garnishments, EI, CPP).
  • Manage employee attendance and leave records, including vacation tracking and accurate payroll reporting and reconciliation.
  • Process agency billing and legislated payments, such as WSIB and other required remittances.
  • Oversee employee benefits programs (health, LTD, RRSP, DPSP), including enrollments, claims, and monthly reconciliations.
  • Maintain HRIS and support employees, handling updates for hires/terminations, benefit changes, and responding to payroll and benefits inquiries.
  • Manage occupational and non-occupational injury claims, including WSIB filing and return-to-work planning.
  • Lead the Joint Healthamp; Safety Committee and promote a safety-first workplace culture.Conduct workplace inspections, investigate incidents, and ensure OHSA compliance.
  • Facilitate, schedule, and track all health and safety training (e.g., WHMIS, First Aid, Forklift).
  • Maintain safety communication boards and oversee claims administration with thorough documentation.
RequirementsMinimum RequirementsEducation/Experience/Competence
  • University Degree /College diploma in Human Resources Management, Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a well-rounded Human Resources Generalist in an industrial or manufacturing environment, experience including
  • payroll and benefits administration for both hourly and salaried employees,
  • HR disciplines including recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, learning and development, talent management, compensation and disability management.
  • active involvement in health and safety initiatives
Strong knowledge of ESA, OHSA, payroll legislation, and benefits administration. Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills, with a proven ability to format and draft correspondence, forms, reports, presentations, and proposals.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Self-motivated and flexible professional with strong decision-making skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to independently plan, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks while meeting deadlines. Demonstrated ability to conduct business with integrity, confidentiality, and accountability, while effectively multitasking under pressure and driven by continuous improvement. Proficiency with Human Resources Information System (HRIS), Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
