Job Description

OPEN COMPETITION1 - Permanent Full-TimeOperations & Maintenance SupervisorFor the community of La RongeLac La Ronge Indian Band Woodland Wellness Centre is now inviting applications for a One (1) Permanent Full Time, Operations & Maintenance Supervisor based out of La Ronge. The O&M Supervisor will provide overall supervision and direction to the O&M staff and combines knowledge and skills to effectively oversee the operations and maintenance of all the facilities under the department of the Woodland Wellness Centre. This position will report to the Woodland Wellness Centre Director.Duties:

  • Responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling all the operation and maintenance of the Woodland Wellness Centre and property;
  • Develop and submit proposals for funding of capital projects;
  • Coordinates to ensure proper signage, cleaning, maintenance, parking, safety inspections, security and snow removal/landscaping is maintained on a regular basis;
  • Maintains the operation and maintenance budgets in accordance with LLRIB Finance Policy;
  • Oversees the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, electrical and mechanical systems;
  • Proactive troubleshooting and problem diagnosis of various equipment within facilities;
  • Develop and implement checklists, reports and inventory lists;
  • Supports maintenance workers to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner;
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or designate.
Requirements:
  • Possess a Trade Designation in an applicable trade;
  • Three (3) years experience in the operation and maintenance of buildings and equipment;
  • Equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered;
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred or willing to receive training;
  • Demonstrated diagnostic skills in process instrumentation and mechanical maintenance;
  • Knowledge of budgetary processes;
  • Must possess strong troubleshooting and problem solving abilities;
  • Must be proficient in computers skills and software programs;
  • Strong management, delegation, planning and leadership skills;
  • Knowledge of provincial and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances and legislation;
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s
Working Conditions:
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75lb; Able to stand for extended periods of time and perform a variety of activities which may include lifting, bending, stretching, squatting, or pulling.
  • Travel to the site, and off-site locations may be
  • Safety equipment will be required, (e.g. steel-toed safety boots, ); Hazards associated with the trade.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors under various weather conditions.
