Position: Mechanical Design Engineering Location: Pinawa, MB Type of Employment: Permanent position Responsibilities: A member of a multi-disciplinary branch providing integrated project management, engineering, design and construction services for nuclear and non-nuclear facilities, and R amp;D experiments at the site. Under general direction from the Branch Manager, the employee will contribute to the development of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs of electrical power systems. Directly supervision by the Mechanical Section Head/Engineering Manager. Qualifications / Requirements: Education Bachelor (Honours) degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology from a university of recognized standing. Training in the use of engineering design software for production of engineering drawings. Experience 1-2 years of relevant design experience is preferred utilizing Auto CAD and/or other 2D and 3D design software and computer design tools. Experience in working with other technical staff in gathering design inputs for drawing production. Abilities and Skills Capable to exhibit sufficient proficiency with design tools producing design drawings and supporting documentation as necessary to meet the needs of the Mechanical Engineering Department. Ability to exercise sound judgment in technical matters, to routinely solve technical problems and to make recommendations. Good oral and written English communication skills. Job/Industry Specific Knowledge Demonstrated knowledge of engineering codes and standards used in the design, construction, and commissioning of industrial facilities. Ability to understand and gain knowledge of CSA N286/N285 quality standards is preferable. Ability to learn and implement engineering practices, organization, and quality management program under the supervision of the Section Head/Engineering Manager.
