Mid-level ProfessionalRepair and New Build Technician (S13)(Full time, permanent evening shiftmodified working schedule position)Local Lodge 2468Siemens Energy Canada LimitedDescription:Works as an integral part of a shop floor engine support team, anticipating work and coordinating repair and New Build requirements and resolving snags. Responsible for coordinating and review of deviating material. Carries out independent investigations/troubleshooting and produces formal reports. Ensures that the necessary support equipment is provided and maintained in order to meet program requirements. Creates methods and sequential planning documents and labour estimates.Responsibilities:o Prepares or assists in the preparation of methods & scheme planning documents for the purpose of modification, repairing, testing, stripping, building, inspecting and conforming engines and their components.o Estimates labour, engineering material and processing costs, which are defined in OEM and customer documentation.o Assist in the management of incoming deviating materials for review. Verify deviations and non-conforming material and provide disposition to scrap, rework or forward to the relevant Engineer for review in accordance with company policies. Plan and prepare instructions for rework in accordance to the appropriate instructions approved by the relevant Engineering or OEM authorities.o Plan in conjunction with his/her management detailed activity to produce statistical data to collect/build :a. Estimating libraryb. Repair and modification index by engine typec. Repair arisingsd. Scrap incidencee. General technical datao Participate in scrap reviews to help identify opportunities for salvageo Participate in investigation and development work with Siemens, or jointly with subcontractors or suppliers, to demonstrate and justify the suitability of proposed repairs. Issues technical reports as necessary, and work at preparing the repair instructions for approval in accordance with the Siemens Quality Control procedures.o Prepare and issue repair and/or new build instructions, including shop floor computer routings.o Ensure documentation compliance with established OEM instructions and specifications.o Assist in the maintenance of CNC programs as requested by the shop or by the relevant process engineer, including modifications and corrections as necessary. Work with the CNC programmer, being a process engineer or a sub-contractor, on new programs development. Support tool proving activities as required by the CNC programmer, the relevant process engineer or shop supervision.o Any other related duties as assignedQualifications
